iOS skill exchange app: local matching, credits and messaging

Main features
- Geolocated matchingThe app finds people near you who teach what you want to learn, and who are looking for what you already know.
- Credit systemTeach guitar for an hour, earn enough to learn cooking. Each skill is worth credits based on difficulty, and money never enters the exchange.
- Thirteen categoriesTechnology, languages, arts, music, sport, cooking, gardening, crafts, business, health: enough to cover most teachable skills.
- In person or by videoBuilt-in messaging, video calls and availability calendar, so the meeting gets arranged without leaving the app.
- Progress and trustDaily quests, badges, reviews and trust scores: consistency is rewarded, and you know who you are dealing with before travelling.
Technical challenges
- A currency that holds upIf an hour of guitar is worth an hour of coding, nobody teaches rare skills any more. The scale had to stay fair without turning into a maze of rules.
- Matching that makes senseCrossing what each person teaches, wants to learn, how far away they are and when they are free: untuned, the algorithm suggests perfect profiles three hundred kilometres away.
- Credits that cannot be forgedAn internal currency attracts clever users. Balances are never changed from the phone: everything goes through Firestore security rules and server-side functions.
- Trust between strangersTwo people who have never met are going to meet in person. Reviews, trust scores and exchange history exist first and foremost for that.
